About Laura

Laura Kauffman is a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in the state of Pennsylvania and a nationally board certified counselor (NCC).

Laura began her career working with children and families through the avenues of school counseling, outpatient psychotherapy, and school-based therapy, and although she is currently focusing on adolescent and adult populations she will always hold a soft spot for parent education and support.  She has extensive experience helping clients work through a wide range of presenting issues including, but not limited to, stress and anxiety, depression, family adjustments, grief and loss, life transitions, and relationship difficulties.

Laura strives to work from a relational, body-oriented, experiential, emotion-focused perspective and has specialized training in Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP). AEDP draws from interpersonal neurobiology, attachment theory, emotion theory and affective neuroscience, body-focused approaches, and transformational studies to undo aloneness and provide a safe haven and secure base in order to foster processing of difficult emotional and relational experiences and develop new transformational, healing experiences. Other treatment approaches include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, play therapy, and Interpersonal Neurobiology (IPNB).

Laura considers it an honor and privilege to serve as an ally and witness to those embarking on a journey towards growth and healing.
