About Clara
Clara in a licensed associate professional counselor in the state of Pennsylvania. She holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Messiah University, following an M.S.Ed. from the University of Pennsylvania and an undergraduate degree from Ewha Women’s University in South Korea. With a background in Spiritually Integrated Psychotherapy, Clara brings a diverse skill set to her therapeutic practice. Clara has also completed her training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) through the EMDR Institute, as well as training in Schema Therapy. Clara utilizes these evidenced-based techniques from Schema Therapy and EMDR with a variety of clients.
Clara’s experience spans working with individuals grappling with anxiety, depression, trauma, and various interpersonal and familial challenges across a wide age range. Having lived extensively in both Asia and the U.S., Clara is uniquely attuned to the challenges faced by individuals and families navigating to adjust to a new cultural environment while maintaining their cultural identities. Her fluency in Korean and deep understanding of both Asian and Western perspectives enable her to effectively bridge cultural gaps, particularly between generations within families.
Clara is dedicated to fostering a safe, supportive, and empathetic environment where clients can explore their strengths, build resilience, and develop effective strategies for mental wellness. She focuses on personalized treatment plans that respect each individual’s unique identity and life experiences, striving to empower her clients by fostering an environment of healing and empowerment rooted in understanding, compassion, and evidence-based interventions.
