About Emily
Emily graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in May 2022 with an M.S.Ed in Counseling and Mental Health services as well as an M.Phil.Ed in Professional Counseling. Most recently, Emily has completed training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to further support her work with clients.
Emily completed her practicum at an intensive outpatient group setting, and her internship at a community mental health agency. During graduate school, Emily also provided therapy services for clients suffering from COVID-related loss. She has experience providing both group and individual therapy and has worked with clients from a variety of ages, backgrounds, and presenting problems.
Emily tends to use a psychodynamic framework as the basis for her work. This perspective highlights the importance of the unconscious, which means that a lot of important information, memories, and patterns might be hidden within. Emily's hope is that her work with clients will instigate insight, and bring some of the unconscious to conscious awareness. Emily’s underlying goal for therapy is to create a collaborate, safe, and open environment whereby the client is the expert of the space and time together.
