About Luna
Luna is a licensed associate professional counselor (LAPC) in Pennsylvania whose passion lies in guiding clients through meaningful therapeutic change. As a former international student- athlete, she has navigated the complexities of cross‑cultural transitions, balancing demanding athletic and academic commitments. This journey has fostered resilience, adaptability, and cultural sensitivity—qualities that empower Luna to connect authentically with clients from diverse backgrounds.
Luna earned both her Ph.D. in Sport, Exercise, and Performance Psychology, and her M.A. in Mental Health Counseling from West Virginia University. In addition to her academic training, she brings diverse clinical experiences across community mental health, university counseling, and private practice settings, equipping her to address a broad spectrum of mental health concerns with depth and expertise.
At Growth Minded, Luna creates a warm, empathetic space where clients can safely explore anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, stress, life transitions, and other challenges. Her integrative approach weaves together Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Interpersonal Processing Therapy, and other evidence‑based modalities to facilitate healing from past wounds and cultivate present resilience. Known for her culturally attuned, client‑centered style, Luna tailors each treatment plan to honor her clients’ unique backgrounds and aspirations.
Beyond traditional psychotherapy, Luna draws on her background in sport, exercise, and performance psychology to offer mental performance consulting in sport, performing‑arts, first‑responder, and corporate settings. By focusing on resilience‑building and performance‑anxiety management, she empowers individuals and teams to develop the mental skills essential for peak functioning. Her research into mental health referral pathways in collegiate sport and the distinctive well‑being challenges faced by diverse populations continues to both inform and enrich her clinical practice. Luna leverages her research expertise to drive systemic change and develop innovative solutions to community issues.
