About Senah

Senah Miller is an LAPC with an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Messiah University. Senah works with a variety of presentations and concerns, with particular experience helping clients who are navigating intrusive thoughts/images and related behaviors, a difficulty in understanding themselves or their behavior, or a past that impacts them today. These may show up in experiences such as OCD, anxiety, depression, and/or trauma. Senah’s clients span a range of ages, often including kids, teens, young adults, and couples.

Senah considers one’s past crucial for understanding the present, including how interpersonal relationships and significant experiences may contribute to or explain current behaviors or emotional responses. Senah has extensive academic and professional experience with children and child development, which bolsters this belief.

Senah approaches treatment through a phase model informed by her training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), frequently offering it as a modality to resolve the core issues behind a client’s presenting concerns. She has also completed training in Flash Technique, a trauma-processing approach that can help clients access and resolve distressing experiences with less activation and discomfort. Senah also utilizes Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for clients dealing with OCD or certain anxiety presentations. As a Certified Prepare/Enrich Facilitator, this framework, along with elements from Gottman, guides her work with couples. Other approaches Senah utilizes include Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Narrative Therapy. Senah also provides faith-based care for clients who desire that experience.

Overall, Senah seeks to establish a nonjudgmental environment where clients feel safe sharing their deepest concerns, feelings, or experiences. Many clients appreciate Senah's structured style and clear treatment plan, which is tailored to their specific experience to maximize the likelihood of growth and change. Senah’s door is always open to anyone willing to walk into (or log onto) it!
