About Sophie
Sophie holds a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from The Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM), where she received specialized training in suicide risk assessment and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Additionally, she is certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and has completed advanced training in treating anxiety and related conditions, including Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Phobias, and Social Anxiety. Sophie has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults with a variety of mental health concerns, such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, chronic illness, behavioral issues, life transitions, relational stress, self-esteem issues, and more.
Sophie employs a strengths-based and person-centered approach, incorporating interventions from several evidence-based practices, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and aspects of Motivational Interviewing. Occasionally, she utilizes creative techniques such as play, art, and mindfulness to help clients of any age share their experiences.
Sophie focuses on building a safe, compassionate, and nurturing space where individuals can freely explore their inner selves and emotions. She aims to build an authentic connection with the client, acknowledge their strengths, explore areas for growth, and support them in making meaningful changes.
