About Charmaine
Charmaine Ensinger, LMFT (licensed marriage and family therapist), is a certified sex therapist and marriage and family therapist uniquely equipped to understand the complexities of relationships across various aspects of life. She enjoys working with individuals from diverse ethnic, gender, and sexual backgrounds and feels a special connection with those who may be misunderstood, marginalized, or identify as “outsiders.”
As an ADHD-certified clinical services provider, she is well-prepared to address the intricacies of ADHD symptoms and management. Charmaine holds certifications as a sex therapist through the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT) and as a NeuroDiversity Sexuality Therapist through the International Board of Sexuality Professionals (IBOSP). She is also an AAMFT-approved supervisor, available to guide marriage and family therapists (MFTs) and sex therapists in training.
Starting therapy can be a daunting experience, so Charmaine's practice is designed to offer a safe and supportive space where clients can enhance their relationships with themselves and others. Her eclectic and integrative therapeutic style is low-pressure and combines personal and systemic work. Each client undergoes an integrative assessment tailored to their needs and goals, guiding her collaborative approach. Charmaine utilizes a variety of therapy modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), Narrative Therapy, and mindfulness practices.
A strong ally of the Black Lives Matter (BLM), LGBTQ+, polyamorous, kink, non-monogamous, sex worker, and alternative lifestyle communities, Charmaine is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Clinical Sexology at Modern Sex Therapy Institutes. Her doctoral project focuses on the intersection of sex therapy and ADHD. Additionally, she teaches Human Sexuality as an adjunct professor and contributes to marketing and graphic design initiatives.
